Hello, I'm Carolina Barksdale, Associate Broker with Benson & Mangold Real Estate, based in St. Michaels.

The heart of my job as a real estate agent is to provide honest, accurate and timely information to you. I take the responsibility of acting as a "counselor and adviser" very seriously. Whether you are a buyer or seller, it is important for you to have the advantage of making an informed decision. In addition to giving you all of the necessary tools to make that decision, I guide you through the entire home buying or selling process, always with your interests as my priority. I take the confidence you have placed in me very seriously. Honesty, knowledge and dedication to my clients. Sounds lofty but I mean it.

I am originally from Germany, am the daughter of a doctor and entrepreneur and have four sisters! Most of my childhood was spent in the northern part of Bavaria and I earned degrees in Business, Management and Marketing from IHK in Bamberg, Germany. I came to the states in 1991.

After a successful career as a journalist and managing editor of an international trade magazine, I moved to Naples, Florida and started a consulting firm. It was here I entered into the real estate field. I also co-operated an import/export firm with my husband for 10 years, which we sold in 2003. I then returned to what I like best, selling real estate full time. I have lived on the Eastern Shore of Maryland since 1998 and live in St. Michaels, MD with my husband and son. We live in a fabulously charming 100+ year old house, which we are constantly renovating.

My favorite thing to do other than selling real estate, is cooking. Also anything related to cooking - Collecting and reading cookbooks, vegetable gardening (grow your own), researching and playing with kitchen gadgets, sampling different cuisine from around the world, learning about the cultural background of foods, food history, and of course, eating!

I actively participate in the Saint Michaels Community Center and currently serve on the Advisory Board as a Board Member. I also served on the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of St. Michaels for two terms. Member of the St. Michaels Business Association, National Association of Realtors, Maryland Association of Realtors, Midshore Board of Realtors, Florida Association of Realtors, Naples Board of Realtors and Marco Island Board of Realtors.
